The Emile Hirsch Birthday Project

Hey all, it's Angela from EHW. I just wanted to remind you that there is about two more hours to send your birthday message to Emile! Hopefully you can all figure out what to say... I know I'm having trouble myself. Anyways, whenever you're ready, you can send the message by going to the Emile Hirsch Birthday Project. Good luck!

Whew, it's been quite awhile since I've posted I feel like. The only time I'm on here anymore is mark things off of my to-do-list that I made awhile back, haha. I've just been dealing with classes that started a week ago and my job and EHW and I have no time for anything else! Except the Superbowl and making time for real life, haha.

Did I tell you it was my last semester...? )

I have been so incredibly lazy since yesterday.  The problem was I could feel myself getting sick at work on Thursday, and by the time I was closing I couldn't stop sneezing.  And then I had to work all day Friday & all day Saturday.  So I got home at a quarter till midnight on Friday, had to be out of the house by 10:30 on Satuday morning, was sick & needed sleep... but my roommates had people over.  It sucked, because they are all my friends too, but I was sick and went right to bed when I came home.  And they were SOOO loud, and my room is right by the kitchen.  And I really don't normally complain at all about stuff like this, but it just sucked.  They didn't leave/go to bed until 6 in the morning.  After work on Saturday I went to my friend's party even though I was sick, and there some of my friends apologized for keep me up, so that was nice.

Anyways, after the party, I've pretty much been in bed & stayed in bed.  I'm just trying to get enough sleep.  Plus it's cold outside.  And I don't even have cable.  So I couldn't watch the SAG awards last night.  But I was on the computer, refreshing this page on IMDB that was recording the winners live.  So I freaked out when Sean Penn won for Milk.  I'm so happy for him!

While being lazy, I've managed to accomplish a few things at EHW.
+ i'm almost ready to unveil the new video gallery
+ i made a mobile version of the site (so if you visit it on your Blackberry, you don't have to wait for a ton of photos to load)
+ i've added forty photos from last night's events
+ i've added a ton more affiliates
+ you can now be our friend on Facebook
+ added a poll (PLEASE vote!)
+ i'm about to start work on a "secret project" ;)

There's so much more I still have to do though!  If anyone has any Emile videos that they'd like to donate, please comment or message me.  It would be greatly appreciated!

I think today I am actually going to accomplish something.  I just don't know if I want to go all the way downtown to get my UPass... but if I don't get it then I'll be spending twice as much money because I want to go see a movie at the theater...  Such tough decisions!  I think I'm going to go take a shower && then see how I feel.

In the meantime, I leave you with some pretty-ness.  (More can be found at EHW... & remember to vote please!)

More bullets, because that's how I feel right now, haha.

I take my pills, the babies cry )
  • Ahhhh, I booked a flight to Boston!  I am going to meet my Sicilian roommate/best friend while abroad/husband (and I should mention she's not Sicilian herself... although I personally am partly, but we met while we studied abroad in Sicily).  She came up to visit me in Chicago over the summer, so it is my turn to return the favor, and in fact go visit her in Boston.  So funny though is the fact that I booked it from February 13th to the 16th, completely not realizing it will be Valentine's Day while I am there.  I really didn't realize it at all until she posted it on my FB wall, haha.  But her boyfriend of three years just broke up with her, so this will be good for the both of us I think.  & besides, she is my hubby lol.  (When were were flying through Europe once it had her name as "Mr. Amanda" & mine as "Mrs. Angela," it was hilarious.)
  • Today at work SUCKED.  The box office boy & the usher called off of work; thankfully the usher found someone to replace him.  But even so, there was only three of us there including the manager.  And SOMEHOW, one hundred people came to see Slumdog Millionaire!  That NEVER happens on a weekday.  I think it was because the Oscar nominations were announced this morning.  Speaking of which...
  • GO MILK!  I'm so excited "Milk" got nominated for so many awards (eight!).  I wasn't really too worried, but it was kind of hard, seeing as the Golden Globes didn't make "Milk" look so good.  But the Oscars have always been different & not afraid to go their own way.  Which is why I love them!
  • As far as EHW goes (you know I have to add something about it; it is my baby), right now I am trying my hardest to work on some kinks for trying to upload videos.
  • Oh, like my icon?  I made it myself, haha.  I'm pretty obsessed with that flower pattern (& Emile as well, of course)... you will find out just how much obsessed I am once I open the video gallery, haha.  (Maybe that's yet another warning?  Lol.)
  • I want to go home.  I miss my mom's food!  It's not the same.  My mom makes the BEST (literally the BEST, just ask my friends who have dreams about it, seriously) popcorn... I tried making it today for me & my roommate, but it was just not right.  I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong... hmm.. But I even miss her soup & stuffed cabbage.  But I have NO IDEA when I will be able to go home.  I will just have to wait it out, I suppose.
  • It feels really nice to have a new president.  I didn't absolutely hate George Bush, I mean he made some mistakes that I definitely don't agree with, but I wasn't as against him as others were.  And I'm definitely an Obama fan, but not his biggest one.  But I was reading "A Long Way Down" (I finally finished it!) & George Bush was mentioned, and I couldn't help but think, "He's not the president anymore."  And it felt like such a great relief.  Like, it's all a part of our past.  One day we will be reading (or probably our children) the history books, and George Bush's name will be mentioned right after Clinton and right before Obama.  Just another president in the history of the United States.  No longer OUR president.  (Oh, by the way, I'm already a part of history.  I was in Grant Park on election night.  It was amazing, I want to post pictures soon!)
  • I saw "Benjamin Button" yesterday & it was SOOO good.  I loved it.  Go see it!  It is worth the money (& it was nominated the most Academy Awards)... and I won't mention that I saw it for free cause I work at the theater... but I would have paid for it, lol. ;)
  • Emile was mentioned in a conversation today... and not by me, haha.  Without giving too much private information away (as much as I want to because it's kind of crazy), I live next to the house where a certain famous controversy happened in Chicago (not Blagovevich or however you spell it!).  The celebrity doesn't live there anymore, so it's empty, as in no one lives there.  My roommate & I were talking and were saying how it would be cool if a hot bachelor moved in.  (The place looks HUGE & we want to go in & see it!)  And I was like, a famous hot bachelor.  In my head, of course, I'm thinking "Emile Hirsch."  And then my roommate says, "Emile Hirsch."  And I said, "That's exactly what I was thinking."  She's like, "You wouldn't move if he lived next door, would you?"  And I just shook my head.  Love my roommate, haha.
  • Oh, biggest news ever.  My mom thinks that it may be cheaper just to buy a little house in California, rather than to rent an apartment.  I'm like, wooowww.  Lol.  I can picture myself painted each room like really beautiful colors and decorating and planting flowers in a garden, lol.  The house she found online is adorable too.  I'm trying not to get my hopes up, but a girl can dream right?

I stole this from my new friend begreane:

The first five people to respond to this post will get something made by me! My choice, for you.
This offer does have some restrictions and limitations:
- I make no guarantees that you will like what I make!
- What I create will be just for you.
- It'll be done sometime this year.
-You won't know what it'll be. It may be a story, or poetry, or I might even draw or paint something. I may bake you something and mail it to you (but probably not). Who knows? Not you, that's for sure!
- I reserve the right to do something extremely strange.
If you want to play along and have fun, put this in your journal too. We all can make stuff!

1. Grab the book nearest you. Right now.
2. Turn to page 56.
3. Find the fifth sentence.
4. Post that sentence along with these instructions in your LJ.
5. Don't dig for your favorite book, the coolest, the most intellectual. Use the CLOSEST.

Woww, did not do this one on purpose. The closest book to me is "Breaking Dawn"...
The music changed, and Charlie tapped on Edward's shoulder.

Today was the best day I've probably had all year. I woke up at one because I heard Aladdin that someone had put on downstairs. So we watched that on VHS while we had breakfast. And then I called my mom, and she told me that the day I graduate we are roadtripping to California!!! I am so excited.

A short bullet list of randomness for my own benefit because I don't want to get ready for work in a half hour.
  • I still haven't quite grasped the fact that the high is -1.  I'm sorry... this boogles my mind.  I'm scared to go outside.  But I have no choice seeing as I have to work.  But work should be closed, I would think.  Who else would go out in this weather unless it was necessary?  Insane people who want to see movies in a freezing movie theater I suppose.
  • maybe I'm a little bit over my head )
